3 Electrical Safety Tips for Spring Yard Work

It’s April, and we’ve had some nice warm days in windy Idaho, so many of you are probably getting ready to start some of your spring cleaning and outdoor chores.

Before you start, we at Modern PHE want to make sure that you are as safe as can be. So, here are some electrical safety tips to be aware of before you start your spring yard work.

1. Before using power tools or your electric lawn mower, check for frayed cords or broken plugs – especially if the weather made its way into your storage shed this winter. Make sure to repair damaged equipment before using it, and always keep your electrical tools stored in dry areas when not in use.

2. If you have any home improvement projects that involve electrical work (new lighting, air conditioning, etc.), make sure to turn the power off at the main breaker panel and notify anyone at home that you are doing electrical work. And if you need any help, give us a call! We’ll send someone from our team over in a hurry.

3. Do you have large trees that need to be trimmed back? Make sure to check in the foliage for any hidden power lines before starting on your tree trimming project. Remember, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Give us a call if you ever need any help with electrical work.
